This manual describes in detail all the steps and procedures needed to implement the TEAM Vegetation Protocol. The methodology is based on the collective knowledge of numerous scientists with many years of experience in censusing trees in tropical forests at different temporal and spatial scales. The TEAM Vegetation Protocol provides a standardized methodology for the census and measurement of all stems (trees, lianas, palms and tree ferns) in a 1-ha plot that have a diameter of 10 cm or more at a height of 1.3 m above the ground.
